Archiving the Backup

When you run U-Move on the for backup it will create a snapshot of Active Directory. This snapshot will be written to backup media, such as a .BKF file. After U-Move is finished you can save or archive the backup media.

You can save or archive the backup media using any method, including the following:

  • Save to a shared folder on another Windows Server computer
  • Save to a Network Attached Storage (NAS) server
  • Burn a CD or DVD
  • Archive to a removable USB storage device

It is important to save or archive the .BKF file to a remote location (not the local disk). That way if the computer fails later you have disaster recovery capability.
