Moving SharePoint

SharePoint is Microsoft's web-based sharing and collaboration system. The web pages for SharePoint are stored in a SQL Server database.

U-Move is designed primarily to move Active Directory, and as such operates only on a domain controller. U-Move moves SharePoint as a courtesy as part of moving AD. It will not move SharePoint to/from a non-domain controller.

U-Move supports moving the following versions of SharePoint:

• SharePoint Server 2013
• SharePoint Server 2010
• Office SharePoint Server 2007 (SharePoint 3.0)

To move SharePoint use the following procedure:

1. Prepare the destination computer for SharePoint
2. Install SharePoint
3. Move AD and the SharePoint database
