Announcing U-Move Version 2.5
U-Tools Software LLC is pleased to announce the release of U-Move Version 2.5 for Microsoft Active Directory. U-Move can now recover AD from a Volume Shadow Copy (VSC) snapshot of the C: disk. It also improves support for Windows Server 2016. Version 2.5 includes several new features that improve the robustness and reliability of AD recovery. U-Move version 2.3.1390 speeds up the creation of AD backups by not copying stale DFSR replication-status files in \Windows\SYSVOL\domain\* and in \Windows\SYSVOL\staging\domain\*. These files can become quite numerous on an old DC. Some bugs were fixed, including a potential communications deadlock when doing a remote backup or restore from a fast desktop PC over a fast (gigabit) network to an old slow DC. All customers with an active support plan are encouraged to upgrade to this version.

It displays a warning message if critical hot-patches need to be applied first (e.g., KB2771431) and improves the support of Windows Server Core in preparation for Windows Server 2016 (which does not offer to install a GUI). Several bugs were fixed, including a regression issue with Windows Server 2003. All customers with an active support plan are encouraged to upgrade to this version.
