U-Tools Software is pleased to announce the release of U-Move Version 2.8 for Microsoft Active Directory. Version 2.8 adds support for Window Server 2022. It also supports new Windows 11 security features such as Controlled Folder Access (CFA) and mandatory SHA-2. It improves AD recovery capability for previous versions of Windows Server. All customers are encouraged to upgrade to this version.

U-Move version 2.7.4001 is a major update that adds support for Windows Server 2019 Build 17763.1817 (March 2021). It includes a warning about SHA-1 vs SHA-2 compatibility, a warning about CVE-2020-17049, and fixes a compatibility issue with the Intel Driver & Support Assistant. U-Move 2.7.4001 is the final version that will support SHA-1 on Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2. Due to Microsoft’s expiration of SHA-1 digital signatures there will be no further releases of U-Move 2.7.

U-Move version 2.7.3152 adds the ability to recover the backup snapshot file (.BKF) if you forget the secret passphrase. U-Move generates a Recovery Request Number (RRN), which you can send by e-mail to U-Tools Technical Support to recover your encrypted backup file. Version 2.7.3152 also improves recovery of AD from a Volume Shadow Copy snapshot and adds information about LDAP Signing. All customers are encouraged to upgrade to this version.
